City slickers head to New York financial workplace conference 2024
With smart technology, people-centred spaces and the future of talent all on the agenda, WORKTECH’s Financial Workplace 2024 conference is set to track the latest trends
With Wells Fargo’s New York headquarters as the setting, this year’s WORKTECH Financial Workplace conference on Tuesday 27 February will explore what’s on the horizon for the future of work in the financial services sector.
Here are some sessions to look out for:
New York innovations
In this panel, futurologist and CEO of Cordless Group and UnWork Philip Ross will facilitate a discussion around newly completed financial services workplace projects in New York. Joined by Joanna Hansen, Global Head of Design and Standards at Wells Fargo, and Jena Hwang, Global Co-Head of Real Estate and Location Strategy, this discussion will explore key considerations for attracting top talent and creating hospitality-driven workplace experiences. Workplace developments with sustainable and responsible business practices will frame the discussion.
Workplace pilots
Moderated by Per Hansen, former Global Head of Workplace Strategy at Credit Suisse, this session will see individuals from HSBC, BNY Mello, Mastercard and Wells Fargo tackle the issue of creating flexible and adaptable workspaces. How can we create environments that enhance both employee productivity and wellbeing? Favouring innovative approaches, the panel will focus on sharing examples of pilots, highlighting the wins, surprises and learnings so far.
Thinktank discussions
The afternoon will see the introduction of three thinktank breakout discussions.
How can the power of digital storytelling be leveraged to merge physical and digital realms and magnetise people to the office? The first breakout session will include a discussion of the tools and strategies organisations can use to revive physical spaces, transforming them into places of meaningful engagement.
The second break out session on talent of the future will interactively explore innovative approaches to attracting, retaining and harnessing talent in the workplace. In the final breakout session, digital transformation in on the agenda. How can we leverage workplace data in the digital era? With emerging disruptors like AI and spatial computing to content with, this discussion is not to be missed.
Design by humans
In the conference’s closing session, Sanjay Shamdasani and Andrew Balster, partners at Geniant, will discuss design at the confluence of digital and physical space. Reflecting on an array of the key themes and ideas presented throughout the day, they will provide examples illustrating how to leverage user experience research in the architectural design process. In tackling how large financial services firms can reimagine the employee experience for hybrid work fluidly, they will explore how practices can use the intersection between space and technology to evolve further.
