Burges Salmon, London: the law firm where design meets data
Burges Salmon has opened its newly refurbished London office, where the emphasis is on striking the balance between tech-driven functionality and design aesthetics
Law firm Burges Salmon’s London office, serving as a satellite office to the firm’s Bristol headquarters, has been newly refurbished as part of the firm’s OurSpace programme to improve all its working spaces.
The space benefits from extensive experience mapping: as soon as visitors set foot in the firm, they are greeted by impressive views of the city skyline. The design of the new space optimises natural light and is thoughtfully enhanced with artwork provided to the firm as part of a rolling programme. Intelligent audio-visual technology is employed throughout the meetings rooms as standard, regarded in tandem with acoustic considerations to ensure a high-quality meeting room experience.
Sustainable data focus
Sustainability was a key consideration in the design, and the space boasts furniture made from recycled materials as well as revamped heating and ventilation systems for a more efficient energy consumption.
A focus in the Burges Salmon office was on collecting data and utilising it in a smart way to further the company’s sustainability agenda. Air quality sensors can be found throughout the space, with the data available to view instantly on the Metrikus cloud platform. The sensors are instrumental in ensuring that the firm’s environmental standards are consistently met, and there is a team dedicated to analysing the data on the platform.
