Award scheme on hunt to find the world’s healthiest workplaces
The annual Healthy City Design Congress is back with a new award scheme. Its mission: to identify the most innovative design approaches to creating the healthy workplace
As organisations everywhere look to improve the all-round wellbeing of their employees, a new design award scheme has been launched to identify and celebrate the world’s healthiest workplaces.
The inaugural Healthy City Design Awards 2024 has announced a special category focused on workplace design projects.
Entries should ‘advance the physical and mental health and wellbeing of the workforce by applying a range of design principles and strategies, such as: fostering a positive sense of community and belonging; bringing light and nature into the workplace; implementing more flexible ways of working; improving ergonomics; encouraging active workstyles; and creating greater comfort (thermal, acoustic, psychological).’
‘This is a great opportunity to showcase creative practice in making the workplace healthier’
The Healthy Workplaces category is supported by WORKTECH Academy. Its panel of judges will be led by Academy director Jeremy Myerson, who comments: ‘This is a great opportunity for design and real-estate teams to showcase their creative practice in making our workplaces healthier. We’re looking for innovative ideas with practical results, from spaces and services to workplace strategies.’
The deadline for entries is 12 September 2024 and you can submit your entry here.
There are also categories for healthy homes and neighbourhoods in the Healthy City Design Awards 2024, as well as healthy social infrastructure, design research for healthy cities, healthy city planning and design, healthy transport and mobility, and community impact.
The new awards scheme is linked to the annual Healthy City Design Congress, which this year takes place in Liverpool at the Royal College of Physicians on 15-16 October 2024. The Congress theme is ‘Building a fairer future through impact investment’. WORKTECH Academy is a partner in the event.
