How machines are changing the data game
You don’t have to be a data scientist anymore to understand data. Claire Penny of IBM reveals how machine learning can unlock the power of data in an exclusive video interview
Data analysis was once a skill reserved for data scientists, but advances in technology mean that you don’t have to be an expert to understand data. In this exclusive interview with Claire Penny of IBM, a keynote speaker at this year’s Smart Buildings conference, she explains how machine learning models ingest data and learn and predict behaviours within the workplace.
Penny explains how machines use data to learn about the office building. In turn, the building becomes ‘smarter than smart’ and starts to learn about people’s behaviours and adapts settings according. This marks a move from reactive to predictive adjustment.
