Work, undisrupted: the tech integrations transforming communication
As the world continues to pivot to online platforms as a primary source for communicating, Moneypenny has announced a world-first Microsoft Teams integration which promises to reduce disruption to workplace communication
During the pandemic, the world turned to online communication platforms to stay connected and work collaboratively from different locations. This includes programmes such as Microsoft Teams where users can make and receive calls, schedule meetings and send content to each other.
The number of Microsoft Teams users almost doubled between 2020 and 2021. There are now over 145 million daily active users of Microsoft Teams and 650,000 plus companies that rely on it. It has clearly become the new frontier on which we conduct business, and it is therefore important to capitalise on its uptake to further facilitate the hybrid world of work we currently operate in.
Moneypenny is launching a world first – a first-of-its-kind integration with Microsoft Teams enabling incoming phone calls to business switchboards to be directly transferred to employees’ Microsoft Teams platform, wherever they’re working. This helps Moneypenny manage the disruption of hybrid working for their customers and ensure each call is routed to the right employee first time. Moneypenny can also check the status of the team member in the application, only transferring calls when the person is free and taking a message if they’re in another Microsoft Teams meeting.
‘Innovative integrations are bridging the gaps in hybrid working…’
This agile integration technology provides Moneypenny’s call handlers with instant access to its clients’ Microsoft Teams accounts around the clock, so they can see their real-time status and transfer calls to them and their colleagues in the Teams platform itself. This means Moneypenny Receptionists will only ever send calls when the client is available and that phone transfer interruptions when busy will become a thing of the past. The new tech is prided on its accuracy, enabling calls to become smoothly integrated into the working day through a familiar platform.
Pete Hanlon, CTO at Moneypenny, comments: ‘This latest Microsoft Teams integration will be a step-change in further super-powering our call handling services, ensuring seamless call transfers every time, with maximum speed and efficiency. It is the technology of the future and works equally well, whether in the office or remotely.
‘For some time now we’ve had access to all our clients’ calendars via platforms such as Microsoft Teams, transferring calls virtually, professionally, brilliantly to mobile, office, laptop or wherever works. Following the success of this system, and following positive client feedback, we’re delighted to be adding Microsoft Teams call integration.’
This integration marks a step towards facilitating the hybrid workplace and is a great example of companies adapting to the future world of work.
