World leader in lighting joins Academy as Global Partner
How will lighting shape the future of work? Signify has joined WORKTECH Academy as a Global Partner to share its expertise, resources and ideas with our professional network
WORKTECH Academy is pleased to announce that Signify, the world leader in lighting, has become a Global Partner, the highest strata of Academy membership.
As one of the most innovative and advanced companies in the lighting field, Signify’s arrival at WORKTECH Academy’s top table is timely and significant. There’s an urgent need to accelerate building renovations to make progress toward crucial net zero and decarbonisation goals.
At the same time, the office market continues to struggle to rebound from the disruptions caused by the pandemic, and building owners need effective ways to attract and retain high-value tenants. Signify’s connected LED lighting systems, including its flagship connected lighting brand Interact, have an important role to play in both.
Signify’s vast expertise, knowledge, resources and insights on sustainability, decarbonisation of the built environment, and lighting for health and wellbeing will become available to our global network of workplace professionals at a time when energy-efficient connected LED lighting systems are becoming increasingly central to the future of work.
A unique capacity
WORKTECH Academy director Jeremy Myerson comments: ‘We’re delighted to welcome Signify to our inner circle. Lighting is a big part of every conversation we are having right now with developers, architects and large occupiers. That’s because lighting has a unique capacity to support wellbeing, reduce energy costs, shape experience and activate smart buildings– all hot topics in corporate real estate.
‘Lighting is also important at a precinct, neighbourhood and city scale, as Signify has demonstrated. We’ll be calling on the company’s experts to help explain how lighting will transform work and workplace in the future.’
Signify’s Global Business Director of Systems and Services, Peter Duine, adds: ‘Joining WORKTECH Academy as a Global Partner makes perfect sense for Signify. Many of today’s workplace developments, from creating a more characterful office to taking a more scientific approach to health in the workplace, have a strong connected lighting dimension.
‘Our recently introduced Interact Space analysis capability, for example, offers facility managers deep insights into building occupancy trends and associated environmental conditions that they can create an workspace tailored both to benefit employees and make progress toward sustainability goals. We look forward to engaging with WORKTECH Academy’s community as we work together towards a brighter future for our places of work.’
Signify’s Peter Duine recently co-presented with WORKTECH Academy at the WORKTECH Basel conference, held on 9 April 2024. More on the event here.
Signify now has its own knowledge microsite on the WORKTECH Academy platform where Academy members can access information, ideas and blogs on all aspects of connected lighting, as developments in smart buildings move apace.
